Abstract

This study aims to analyze the availability and effectiveness of the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) for information retrieval at the Wana Magistra Library of SMAN 1 Kepahiang. This study used a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the OPAC has made it easier for users to find information independently without having to visit the library in person, especially with the support of online services. However, challenges remain, such as inaccurate keyword usage, technical glitches, and a lack of information literacy among some users. The library has responded to these challenges by providing direct guidance, OPAC usage guides, and improving the service system. This study recommends the need for increased user education and regular updates to the OPAC system to optimize the information retrieval function.
