Abstract

ABSTRACT Wulan Dari : Factors Affecting Students' Prolonged of Completion Undergraduate Study at the English Tadris Study Program of IAIN Curup NIM : 22551059 Advisor : Dr. Leffy Noviyenti, M.Pd. Co-advisor : Sarwo Edy, M.Pd This research explored the factors contributing to prolonged undergraduate study completion and the coping strategies employed by students in the English Tadris Study Program at IAIN Curup. Using a descriptive qualitative design, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, source triangulation, and document analysis involving seven purposively selected students. The findings showed that study prolonged were influenced by internal factors, including low motivation, academic burnout, difficulties in data analysis and academic writing, and poor time management, as well as external factors, such as limited supervisor availability, inconsistent feedback, and inadequate institutional research support. To address these challenges, students adopted coping strategies by setting achievable writing goals, maintaining regular consultations with supervisors, utilizing academic resources, engaging in peer discussions, and managing stress. The study concludes that timely thesis completion requires both effective student self-regulation and adequate institutional support.
