Abstract
This study investigates the use of Grammarly in students’ essay writing among fourth-semester students at IAIN Curup. Utilizing a qualitative descriptif research design, data were collected through document analysis of student essays and interviews. The findings indicate that Grammarly significantly enhances various aspects of writing, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, consistency, and clarity. Students reported increased confidence in their writing abilities, attributing this improvement to Grammarly's immediate feedback and error detection features. Additionally, the study highlights that while Grammarly assists in correcting technical errors, it also fosters a deeper understanding of writing principles among students. However, limitations regarding the tool's handling of homophones and active/passive voice were noted. The results suggest that integrating Grammarly into academic settings can positively influence students' writing skills, promoting a more effective learning environment. This research contributes to the ongoing discourse on technology in education, advocating for the incorporation of digital tools in writing instruction to enhance student outcomes. Keywords: Grammarly, essay writing, writing accuracy, qualitative research, language education.
