Abstract

Mental health in the world of education must be considered, one that builds human resources is the mental development of students. Especially the mental health of students as the next generation of the nation. As a figure in Islamic education Zakiah Daradjat is very thorough in developing abilities with thorough observation. He interacts in the psychological and educational fields, so that these children and adolescents begin to know their own world and the outside world. Today, there are many deviations from the mental health of children and adolescents. At the same time educators must also take care of their mental health so they can foster and set a good example for students. so the writer is interested in researching "Mental Health According to Zakiah Daradjat's Perspective in Forming Students' Religious Character". This research uses a type of library research or what is often called library research with a qualitative approach method. The data collected is related to primary data sources and secondary data. Data analysis techniques with deductive methods and inductive methods. The results of the study reveal four concepts of mental health in shaping students' religious character, namely: the first concept is by habituating zdikir so as to gain peace of mind, the second concept is by self-adjustment, students have knowledge, role models, and are able to adapt so act according to their knowledge and experience of values the value it has, which ultimately forms character, the third concept, namely, education and experience play a role in the formation of religious character, the fourth concept, namely, harmony between the functions of the soul and actions can be achieved by belief in religious teachings, character formation is habituated by instilling values that emphasize carry out good and leave bad and always act in accordance with the values of religious teachings.
