Abstract

Drug abuse is still a chronic problem that afflicts Indonesia, with cases of methamphetamine trafficking and many arrests of drug dealers in recent years. Drugs began to be widely known among the Surulangun Village community since 2017 but at that time not many other people knew about this including other villages. And then more and more people use it, especially people who buy and sell drugs such as Shabu, Inex, and others. The main problem of this study is to find out how the police's efforts in eradicating drug users in Surulangun Village, Rawas Ulu District, North Musi Rawas Regency and the views of siyasah syar'iyyah on police efforts in eradicating drug users. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques in this study were observation, interviews and documentation. This study intends to determine the police's efforts in eradicating drug users in Surulangun Village, Rawas Ulu District, North Musi Rawas Regency which will later be studied through the siyasah syar'iyyah theory. The conclusion of this study is the police's efforts in eradicating drug users, namely, first: gathering with the village government and the Surulangun Village community, (Pre-emptive/Guidance) installing banners warning about the dangers of drugs, socializing or counseling about drugs once, conducting patrols in Surulangun Village (Preventive/Preventive), conducted an investigation, took action/repressive (the police were directly involved in drug raids in Surulangun Village) then examined and questioned the perpetrators. Second: Siyasah Syariyyah's View on Police Efforts to Eradicate Drug Users in Surulangun Village on the duties and functions of the police in preventing drug abuse through guidance (Pre-emptive) and prevention (Preventive) has been effective due to police efforts in eradicating drug users in accordance with applicable law and based on normative law. However, in terms of (repressive) action, it has not been effective, such as the police releasing drug dealers again.
